Privacy Policy

Vaulted ("Vaulted," "we," "us," or "our") is a personal collectibles catalog that lets you track cards, coins, poker chips, comics, books, and other collectibles. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Vaulted, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the service:

  • Account information. Your name, email address, and password. Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are cryptographically hashed.
  • Collection data. The collectibles you add, including item names, estimated values, purchase details, notes, storage locations, categories, and images you attach.
  • Photos you upload.Images you submit for AI identification or that you attach to items. See "How We Handle Photos" below.
  • Optional eBay data. If you choose to connect your eBay account, we import purchase history you authorize so it can be added to your catalog.

We do not run advertising networks, we do not embed third-party analytics or tracking software, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
  • To store, organize, and display your collection.
  • To provide AI features such as item identification, categorization, and value estimates.
  • To import data from services you explicitly connect, such as eBay.
  • To respond to your support requests and maintain the reliability and security of the service.

How We Handle Photos

When you upload a photo for AI identification, the image is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing and then returned as identification results (such as a suggested name, category, and value estimate). Photos submitted for identification are processed and discarded — they are not permanently stored by Vaulted. Some item images in your catalog may instead reference third-party URLs (for example, reference images from services like ChipGuide); those images are hosted by the respective third party, not by us.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate Vaulted. These providers process data only as needed to perform their function:

  • Anthropic (Claude AI). Item photos and descriptions you submit for AI features are sent to Anthropic for processing.
  • eBay. Used only if you choose to connect your account, to import purchase history you authorize via OAuth.
  • Vercel. Hosts and serves the application.
  • Neon. Provides the managed database where your account and collection data are stored.

Each provider maintains its own privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policies for details on how they handle data.

Data Retention

We retain your account and collection data for as long as your account is active. Photos submitted for AI identification are not retained after processing. If you delete an item, it is removed from your catalog. If you close your account, we delete your personal data and collection contents, except where we are required to retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access. You can view your collection and account details at any time while signed in.
  • Export. You can export your collection data to a CSV file directly from the app.
  • Correction. You can edit or update any item or your profile information.
  • Deletion. You can delete individual items, and your account can be deleted on request. Contact us to have your account and associated data removed.

Children's Privacy

Vaulted is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS, passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes, and authentication uses secure, HTTP-only session cookies. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Vaulted after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
